Press: Emmy Rossum Reveals What She Actually Weighs

Emmy Rossum isn’t defined by her weight.

On Wednesday, the 31-year-old actress asked her Instagram followers if they “want to know what I weigh?”

She then said “Click on my stories. @i_weigh BECAUSE YOU AE SO MUCH MORE THAN A NUMBER,” tagging the I Weigh movement, which encourages women to feel confident despite what number appears on a scale.

“During my life the scale has told me that I’ve gained and lost and gained and lost,” Rossum began.

“Somewhere in the range of 20 pounds. But that piece of metal doesn’t really know,” Rossum continued. “Here’s what I ACTUALLY WEIGH.”

On the next story, Rossum shared a mirror selfie of herself in workout clothes with some of her best qualities written across it.

“3 best friends since kindergarten, drive, kindness, empathy, makes friends with strangers, Jewish and proud, Daughter, 100+ hours of television,” Rossum listed.

“The courage it takes everyday to overcome ptsd, one happy marriage, 3 episodes of television directed, countless hours of therapy, one finished screenplay, and animal rescuer,” Rossum added.

“See, when you add up everything you are??” Rossum wrote covering the words that describe her.

“The size of your thighs don’t really matter anymore do they?!” Rossum asked.

“So join me in this. Show people what you are actually made of. Because you are so much more than a f—— number.”

Later in the day, Rossum again tried to urge her fans to follow her lead.

“So I want to nominate everyone who saw this to do their own version of ‘I Weigh,’ tell us what you’re made of. Because you’re so much more than what that dumb f—— piece of metal says. Alright? OK? Gotta go to work bye.”

The I Weigh movement was originally started by Jameela Jamil, 32. The Good Place star created an Instagram page in hopes of providing a safe place for women who want to celebrate body positivity.

Press: Showtime Bosses On How Long ‘Shameless’ & ‘Ray Donovan’ Can Go -TCA

Shameless is heading into its expanded ninth season as the longest-running drama on premium cable and one of the most watched.

With 8 million episodes a week, the most recent eighth season of Shameless was most watched in Showtime’s history and ranked as the No.1 premium cable series in 2018.

“That show defies gravity,” Showtime president of programming Gary Levine said during the Showtime TCA executive session when asked about how many seasons they envision the family drama-comedy will run.

“Our feeling is that the Gallaghers can live on…, I don’t mind having them on the air for years to come.

Showtime CEO David Nevins credited the setup of the show, a “family group of characters who change over time” as helping to drive its longevity.

Ultimately, “it will be up to (executive producers) John Wells and Nancy Pimental behind the camera and Emmy Rossum and Bill Macy in front of the camera” when the series will end, Levine said.

With Homeland ending after Season 8, Ray Donovan becomes Showtime’s second longest-running scripted series. Levine feels optimistic about the prospects of the drama going beyond its upcoming fifth season, in which the title character moves from Los Angeles to New York. The change of scenery has been great for the series, Levine said.

“We are looking toward and enjoying this revitalized new direction for Ray,” he said.

Press: Shameless Gets Increased Episode Order; Season 9 to Air in Two Parts

We’ll give you the good news first, Shameless fans: Season 9 of the Emmy-nominated dramedy has been expanded to 14 episodes, up from its usual 12-episode order, Showtime announced Monday.

The super-sized season, though, will now air in two parts. The first seven episodes will begin airing Sunday, Sept. 9, at 9/8c, wrapping up with a midseason finale on Sunday, Oct. 21. The season will then resume for seven more installments on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019.

Below is the official description for Shameless‘ ninth season, which was rumored back in June to be increasing its episode order:

Political fervor hits the South Side, and the Gallaghers take justice into their own hands. Frank sees financial opportunity in campaigning and decides to give voice to the underrepresented South Side working man. Fiona tries to build on her success with her apartment building and takes an expensive gamble hoping to catapult herself into the upper echelon. Lip distracts himself from the challenges of sobriety by taking in Eddie’s niece, Xan. Ian faces the consequences of his crimes as the Gay Jesus movement takes a destructive turn. Debbie fights for equal pay and combats harassment, and her efforts lead her to an unexpected realization. Carl sets his sights on West Point and prepares himself for cadet life. Liam must develop a new skill set to survive outside of his cushy private school walls.

As previously reported, Richard Flood has been promoted to series-regular status for Season 9 (as Fiona’s Irish carpenter boyfriend, Ford), while Dan Lauria (Pitch) will recur as a disgraced former congressman.
